Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger was born on July 30, 1947, in Thal, Styria (Austria). He began his career as a bodybuilder and ultimately became the most successful bodybuilder in the world. He won the title 'Mr. Olympia' seven times in total. He also won titles such as 'Mr. Universe', 'Mr. International', 'Mr. Europe', and 'Mr. World'.
Arnold Schwarzenegger received his first role as an actor in 1969 in the film 'Hercules in New York'. He still performed under the pseudonym Arnold Strong in this film. In 1982, Schwarzenegger gained greater recognition for his leading role in 'Conan the Barbarian'. Arnold Schwarzenegger achieved his definitive breakthrough in 1984 with his leading role in 'The Terminator', directed by James Cameron.
As early as 1977, Arnold Schwarzenegger received a Golden Globe as Best Acting Debut.
Arnold Schwarzenegger also works as a director and producer. Among other projects, he was involved both as an actor and as a producer in the films 'Last Action Hero' and 'The 6th Day'.
In addition to the film business, Arnold Schwarzenegger also pursued a political career. He is a member of the Republican Party in the USA and became the 38th Governor of the State of California in November 2003. He held this office for two terms and was unable to run for re-election in 2010, as the term of office for a Governor in California is limited to two legislative periods.
Berlin-based actor Thomas Danneberg is the German dubbing voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger for the German-language versions of his films.
