Brent Jay Spiner was born on February 2, 1949, in Houston, Texas, and is an actor, singer, and voice artist. He became known worldwide for his role as android Lieutenant Commander Data in the science fiction series "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (1987-1994), which earned him a devoted fan base and made him one of the most iconic faces of the Star Trek universe.
Brent Spiner portrayed Data not only throughout all seven seasons of the successful series, but also in the feature films "Star Trek: Generations" (1994), "Star Trek: First Contact" (1996), "Star Trek: Insurrection" (1998), and "Star Trek: Nemesis" (2002). Furthermore, Brent Spiner played a significant role once again in the first season of "Star Trek: Picard" (2020), returning to the Star Trek universe after almost two decades. Beyond his iconic portrayal of the android Data, Brent Spiner took on other roles in various Star Trek productions, including the ruthless scientist Dr. Arik Soong in "Star Trek: Enterprise" (2004).
Outside of Star Trek, Brent Spiner appeared in films such as "Independence Day" (1996) as the eccentric scientist Dr. Brackish Okun, as well as in "Phenomenon" (1996) and "The Aviator" (2004). His versatile career also includes numerous guest appearances in series such as "The Big Bang Theory" and "Warehouse 13".
