Robert Wagner

The American actor Robert John Wagner was born on February 10, 1930, in Detroit (Michigan, USA). Right after graduating from school, Robert Wagner was drawn to Hollywood. His first agent was none other than Albert R. Broccoli, who as a producer launched the James Bond films in 1962 together with Harry Saltzman.

This is how Robert Wagner landed his first smaller film roles and was soon signed by 20th Century Fox. After various roles, he particularly impressed audiences through the musical film With a Song in My Heart (1952) as Paratrooper. Wagner became known to an even larger audience through his role as Prince Valiant in 1954 in the film of the same name.

In the following years, he also made films in Europe. In 1962, he starred alongside Maximilian Schell and Sophia Loren in I sequestrati, and in 1963 he played the role of George Lytton in the film The Pink Panther.

During the following period, Robert Wagner increasingly focused on television. As secret agent Al Mundy, he starred in the series It Takes a Thief from 1968–1970. From 1975–1978, he played the role of Pete T. Ryan in Switch. Also very well known is his role in the television series Hart to Hart from 1979–1984, in which he plays the role of millionaire Jonathan Hart.
