Voice artist Santiago Ziesmer

He is the German voice of the little yellow sponge from Bikini Bottom: Santiago Ziesmer. Since the TV series launched in Germany, he has been dubbing SpongeBob SquarePants with his characteristic and unmistakable voice. Beyond that, he can of course be heard in many other productions as well. If you're not familiar with SpongeBob SquarePants, you might know Steve Urkel from "Family Matters" or actor Steve Buscemi (Barton Fink, Armageddon, 28 Days). Santiago has dedicated himself to acting and voice work for many years. In 1954, a year after his birth, the Spanish-born artist moved to Berlin with his parents and was discovered by director Herbert Ballermann at the age of barely 10. Leading roles in television productions and recordings for TV commercials followed. From 1973 to 1987, for example, he performed on stage at the Berliner Kammerspiele, taking on roles as classic title characters such as Bill Bergson, Huckleberry Finn and Little Mook. As his fame as an actor grew, so did the interest in his voice for dubbing work. From the mid-1980s onwards, his voice could be heard repeatedly in films by director John Hughes. Today, Santiago Ziesmer is undoubtedly one of the most renowned German dubbing voices and commercial voice actors in Germany.
