In the 24th week of pregnancy, Astrid (Julia Jentsch) and her husband Markus (Bjarne Mädel) learn that their child will be born with Down's syndrome. In this moving drama, director Anne Zohra Berrached confronts the two protagonists with the decision of whether to keep the child or have a late abortion. “24 Weeks” celebrated its world premiere at the 2016 Berlinale, where it was the only German film in competition.
speaker-search produced the audio-described version of this film and has been nominated for the German Audio Description Award 2017 in the Feature Film category. The award will be presented by Steven Gätjen at a gala at Kino International on 21 March 2017.
But first, the public has its say: until 15 March 2017 you can vote for your favourite on the German Audio Description Award website. The winner of this vote will also be honoured at the gala.
