Unfortunately, women are still under-represented in the various jobs in recording studios and audio production. Reason enough for us to take part again this year in Girls'Day –Girls' Future Day on 26 April. Last year 5 schoolgirls aged between 12 and 17 took the opportunity to spend a day getting to know the work in our recording studios and editing suites. Voice artists Susanne Hauf and Yesim Meisheit accompanied the girls that day, so that they could also try their hand at the microphone in a small workshop. A special moment for the five participants was a visit from the then mayor of the Neukölln district and current Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, Dr Franziska Giffey.
Girls'Day in Germany is based on a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, Initiative D21, the Federal Employment Agency, the German Trade Union Confederation, the Confederation of German Employers' Associations, the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the German Confederation of Skilled Crafts and the Federation of German Industries. We are happy to support this project and look forward to introducing the participants to the technical profession of sound engineer or audio technician.
