Wentworth Earl Miller III was born on June 2, 1972, in Chipping Norton, England, and is a British-American actor, screenwriter, and producer. Raised in Brooklyn, New York, he studied English Literature at Princeton University before beginning his acting career. After minor roles in series such as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and guest appearances in various TV productions, the early 2000s saw the gradual development of his career.
Wentworth Miller achieved his international breakthrough in 2005 with the lead role of Michael Scofield in the prison drama series "Prison Break." The series, in which he plays a structural engineer who deliberately gets himself incarcerated to free his wrongly convicted brother, became a worldwide success and established Miller as a sought-after actor. For his performance, he received a Golden Globe nomination in 2006 for Best Actor in a Drama Series. Following the end of "Prison Break" in 2009, roles in films such as "Resident Evil: Afterlife" (2010) and "The Loft" (2014) followed.
From 2014, Wentworth Miller expanded his repertoire to include the DC Universe when he took on the role of Leonard Snart, alias Captain Cold, in the series "The Flash." This character quickly became a fan favorite and led to further appearances in "Arrow" as well as a leading role in "Legends of Tomorrow" until 2017. In parallel, Miller worked as a screenwriter, writing the screenplay for the thriller "Stoker" (2013), among others. In 2017, he returned for the fifth season of "Prison Break" in his signature role as Michael Scofield.
