Voice artist Matthias Klie

Actor and voice artist Matthias Klie is best known as the German voice of many prominent actors, including Mads Mikkelsen (Doctor Strange, Hannibal), Vincent Cassel (The World Is Yours), Jason Isaacs (Star Trek Discovery), Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), Timothy Omundson (Galavant), and Titus Welliver (Bosch). He originally came to acting through singing, and then found his way into the recording studio as a dubbing actor behind the microphone. Matthias first sang in a church choir, later in a rock band. At Schauspielstudio Berlin, where he trained as an actor under the direction of Jonathan Kinsler, Maria Körber, and Joachim Kerzel, he also became more familiar with the profession of voice acting. In 1995, his first major dubbing role followed: as Charlie Salinger, played by Matthew Fox, he could be heard over six years in 142 episodes of the American teen drama Party of Five. But Matthias has made a name for himself not only in dubbing. He is also regularly booked as a station voice, documentary narrator, or for commercials. For several highly successful years, his warm, distinctive voice was the sole station voice of RTL II, lending excitement and credibility to formats such as Popstars, Big Brother, and Die Kochprofis, and he voices the villain James in Pokémon.
