Voice artist Ulrike Lau

After completing her acting studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Ulrike Lau went on to work in various theatre productions over the following years. Since 1990, Ulrike has been working freelance as a voice artist, dubbing actress, dialogue writer and dubbing director. She has lent her warm, deep voice to Oprah Winfrey in the films Tuesdays with Morrie and Before Women Had Wings, and Star Trek fans will know her as the German voice of Counselor Deanna Troi. In 2017, she could be heard as the powerful-voiced grandmother Abuelita in Pixar's Coco. However, Ulrike doesn't just work behind the microphone – she also appears in front of the camera. Among other roles, she played a musician in Andreas Dresen's film Grill Point. Her 15 years of experience as a cellist with the Berlin cult band "17 Hippies", with whom she toured half the world, proved particularly valuable for this role.
