Information for our voice artists

Update of 21 March 2019

Dear voice artists,

the challenges we're experiencing these days keep confronting us all with new situations. As a result, we are constantly reviewing our hygiene and safety measures and adapting them to the latest facts.

We have therefore decided to extend the measures that are meant to allow work to continue. We know this will require enormous flexibility from everyone. These rules are intended to ensure the highest possible level of safety.

We are convinced that voice artists who don't have a home studio should not lose all their jobs and thus, often, their only source of income. And since our building has its own courtyard car park and a separate entrance to our main recording room, we are able to offer a completely contact-free working situation.

We have decided on the following rules and adjustments to existing rules.

Rules

1. During the current phase of the pandemic, all voice artists who have their own home studio will be connected to our studio remotely only. We're sure that this is not only an important measure in the current situation, but that clients will also fully understand it.
   
   
2. With immediate effect, all recordings in our studio take place according to the rules of our “contact-free recording” concept. This means: we create physical isolation between the recording room and the control room. The main recording room is entered from outside via a separate staircase. The connecting door in the corridor that leads to the rest of the studio is  locked. This ensures that there is no physical contact.
   
   
3. External visitors no longer have access to our office and other studio rooms.
   
   
4. We are moving all production steps that don't have to be carried out on site to our sound engineers' “home office”. With immediate effect, these sound engineers will no longer work on our premises but exclusively from home.
   
   
5. After each recording, the recording room is aired for at least half an hour. The advantage in our studio is that the recording room has two doors: one leading into the corridor, the other into an anteroom with a wide front of windows. This allows us to create an effective cross-draught.
   
   
6. All surfaces and objects the voice artist might come into contact with are cleaned and disinfected after every recording.
   
   
7. We ask every voice artist to bring their own headphones. If this isn't possible, we'll provide disinfected headphones with additional hygiene covers.

Update of 19 March 2019

Dear voice artists,

the times we are living through present us all with great challenges. For those of us who are self-employed or freelance, these challenges are in some areas certainly much more complex than for many other professions, and we feel them immediately.

As a voice agency and recording studio, two things matter most to us right now: first and foremost, with absolute priority, the protection of everyone we work with. At the same time, we understand that most of you won't be able to go without the work that earns you a living in the coming months.

Today we'd like to inform you about the measures we've already taken to protect everyone as far as possible – some of them even before the current pandemic.

Our aim is to keep all measures under constant review and ensure a working environment that is safe for you but also remains dependable.

We wish you, and all of us, above all that we get through this crisis, which will occupy us all in the time ahead, in good health. But we will also do everything in our power to continue offering you a reliable basis for your work.

1. Disinfection and hygiene in the recording room

• It goes without saying for us that after every voice recording the surfaces in the recording room, such as the voice artist's desk, are treated with surface disinfectant.

• All equipment and movable objects (headphones, pens etc.) you might come into contact with are disinfected after every recording.

• Before every voice recording the headphones are fitted with a new hygiene cover.
  
  
  

2. General prevention

• We ask every guest who comes to our studio at the moment – and have made this a rule – to wash their hands first. Each towel is used only once.

• We are currently avoiding direct physical contact. Handshakes and hugs are being replaced by verbal expressions of affection for the time being.
  
  
  

3. Extended “social distancing”

• In the coming period, every voice artist who has their own studio will record there, connected to our studio remotely. This is to reduce unnecessary journeys (especially on public transport) and avoidable social contact to a minimum.

• We are limiting the number of people who have access to our premises. Among other things, this means that clients can currently only take part in recordings via remote connection.

• We schedule our bookings so that, as far as possible, voice artists don't meet each other on site.

• We offer every voice artist who does need to record in our studios the option of contact-free recording. This means: you can enter our studios through the back entrance and go straight to the recording room without meeting our team in person. That doesn't mean we wouldn't enjoy having a coffee or tea with you. But for one thing we can make up for that in the future, and for another we want to respond to your individual needs. So if any of you feel safer with this solution, we don't find that strange at all – we're happy to support you.
