James Howard Woods was born on April 18, 1947, in Vernal, Utah (USA).

The US actor has appeared in numerous films. Some of the most prominent examples include his role as Maximilian 'Max' Bercowicz alongside Robert De Niro in 'Once Upon a Time in America' (1984), his role as Lester Diamond in 'Casino' (1995) alongside Sharon Stone and Robert De Niro, directed by Martin Scorsese, and his role as Martin Walker in 'White House Down' (2013), directed by Roland Emmerich.

In Germany, he is also known to a wider audience for his role as prosecutor Sebastian Stark (voiced by Frank Glaubrecht) in the television series 'Shark'.

In total, James Woods has been nominated for an Oscar twice: in 1987 as Best Actor for 'Salvador' (1986), directed by Oliver Stone, and in 1997 as Best Supporting Actor for his role in 'Ghosts of Mississippi' (1996), directed by Rob Reiner.
