Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron was born on August 7, 1975, in Benoni, South Africa. The South African actress also holds U.S. citizenship and works as a film producer.

After initially working as a model, Charlize Theron was discovered by a talent agent on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. Following many smaller supporting roles, Charlize Theron achieved her breakthrough in 2003 with her portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in the film 'Monster'. For this leading role, Charlize Theron won an Oscar and a Golden Globe in 2004. She was also the first South African woman to receive an Oscar for Best Actress.

In 2005, Charlize Theron played the leading role in the film 'North Country' and was nominated for an Oscar for this performance. In 2011, Charlize Theron played the role of Mavis Gary in the American comedy film 'Young Adult'. In 2012, she took on the role of Queen Ravenna in the Snow White adaptation 'Snow White and the Huntsman', which was continued in 2016—also with Charlize Theron—with the film 'The Huntsman: Winter's War'.

In 2015, Charlize Theron played the role of Imperator Furiosa in the fourth installment of the Mad Max series in 'Mad Max: Fury Road', directed by George Miller. In 2017, Charlize Theron took on the role of cyber-terrorist Cipher in the film 'The Fate of the Furious' alongside Vin Diesel.

Charlize Theron is also engaged in humanitarian work. With the 'Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project', which the actress founded in 2007, the South African is committed to HIV prevention in her home country. In 2008, Charlize Theron was appointed UN Messenger of Peace.

The German dubbing voice of Charlize Theron in the German-language versions of her films is German actress Bianca Krahl. In the past, Charlize Theron was also dubbed by Katrin Fröhlich.
