Danny DeVito

Danny DeVito was born on November 17, 1944, in Neptune Township, New Jersey, and has been a Hollywood fixture for decades as an actor, director, and producer. With his distinctive stature and unmistakable charm, he has made a name for himself in numerous comedies and character roles.

Danny DeVito achieved his breakthrough in the television series "Taxi" (1978-1983), for which he won an Emmy and a Golden Globe. In the 1980s, he also established himself in cinema, including roles in "Romancing the Stone" (1984) and its sequel. Particularly successful was his collaboration with Michael Douglas in "The War of the Roses" (1989), which DeVito also directed. The 1990s brought further defining performances in films such as "Batman Returns" (1992) as the Penguin, "Get Shorty" (1995), and "L.A. Confidential" (1997).

Danny DeVito is also in demand as a voice actor. He lent his voice to the cynical Phil in the animated series "Hercules" (1997) and also voiced the character Philoctetes in the Disney film. In "The Lorax" (2012), he was heard as the titular Lorax. On the television side, DeVito has been shaping the cult series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" since 2006, in which he portrays the unpredictable Frank Reynolds.
