Jake Johnson, born on May 28, 1978, in Evanston, Illinois, is an American actor, screenwriter, and producer. He became known primarily for his charismatic roles in comedies and his distinctive, laid-back acting style.
Jake Johnson achieved his breakthrough between 2011 and 2018 with the role of Nick Miller in the successful sitcom "New Girl," which brought him international recognition. The series about a shared apartment in Los Angeles made him one of the most popular comedy actors of his generation. Parallel to this, Johnson established himself in cinema: In "Safety Not Guaranteed" (2012), he impressed in a major supporting role, before appearing in "Jurassic World" (2015) as control room technician Lowery Cruthers. Particularly successful was his participation in the comedy "Tag" (2018), in which he starred alongside Ed Helms and Jon Hamm.
Another defining role was Jake Johnson's voice performance as Peter B. Parker in the Oscar-winning animated films "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" (2018) and "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" (2023). His portrayal of the older, more disillusioned Spider-Man was celebrated by critics and audiences alike.
