Rene Oltmanns' love of language has been with him since early childhood and developed further during his acting studies at Hamburg's Schauspielstudio Frese. Given his strong interest, voice-over work was a natural progression alongside acting, and he quickly professionalized in this field. For over ten years now, he has been working as a voice actor for dubbing and voice-over projects, breathing life into a wide variety of characters with his voice – including such curious roles as a Pokémon. In addition, he has voiced dozens of commercials for clients including BMW, Amazon and FTI, and regularly records audiobooks and audio dramas.
