Shailene Diann Woodley was born on November 15, 1991, in San Bernardino, California, and is known as an actress and environmental activist. Her career began in childhood with appearances in television series before she became known to a wider audience through the ABC Family series "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" (2008-2013).

Shailene Woodley achieved her breakthrough on the big screen in 2011 alongside George Clooney in "The Descendants," for which she received numerous awards and was nominated for a Golden Globe. This was followed by the lead role in "The Spectacular Now" (2013), which demonstrated her acting range. She gained international recognition as Beatrice Prior in the dystopian film series "Divergent" (2014), "Insurgent" (2015), and "Allegiant" (2016).
