Sharon Yvonne Stone was born on March 10, 1958, in Meadville, Pennsylvania (USA). She had her first small film role in 1980 in Woody Allen's 'Stardust Memories' as 'Pretty Girl on Train'. This was followed by several supporting roles in well-known blockbusters such as 'Total Recall' and 'Police Academy 4'.
Sharon Stone achieved her international breakthrough in 1992 with the role of novelist Catherine Tramell alongside Michael Douglas in 'Basic Instinct' directed by Paul Verhoeven.
In 1996, Sharon Stone received a Golden Globe as Best Actress for her role in the film 'Casino' (1995) directed by Martin Scorsese. For this role, she was also nominated for an Oscar in the same year.
