Audio dramas are among Anja Umland's earliest childhood memories. Through countless cassettes and acting out and dubbing Hollywood films, she developed a keen awareness of voice and language from an early age. After studying theatre education in Rostock, she built on this interest and completed various training courses in "acting on one square metre", as she calls voice work. Today, Anja Umland is a permanent voice artist for NDR and regularly records documentaries and reports, commercials, corporate films and audiobooks. With meticulous attention to detail, she brings texts and characters of all genres to life – so realistically that she once managed to give herself the chills with her own thriller recording.
