Thomas Balou Martin's name is a perfect match for his deep, distinctive voice. You'll recognize it from numerous commercials, including campaigns for Herbal Essences, Arla, and Telekom, from audiobooks such as Mandela's "Long Walk to Freedom" and Ethan Cross's "The Prophet," as well as his regular work as a narrator for NTV documentaries. He's also highly convincing in character roles, such as the German dubbing voice of Vincent Lindon in the cinema release "Rodin" and in many video games including "World of Warcraft". Beyond his voiceover work, Balou is also very active as an on-camera actor. After gaining several years of experience at the Stuttgart State Theatre under the direction of Hans-Günther Heyme, he trained at the Frese Drama School in Hamburg. In the mid-90s, he made his way to television, where he has appeared multiple times in "Tatort" as well as in "Der Landarzt," "Notruf Hafenkante," and "SOKO." He has also worked as a presenter, hosting the quiz and comedy show "Dings vom Dach" from 2005 to 2010.
