Jean Reno

Jean Reno was born on July 30, 1948, as Juan Moreno y Herrera Jiménez in Casablanca, Morocco.

Jean Reno achieved his international breakthrough as an actor in 1988 with his role as Enzo Molinari in the film 'The Big Blue' directed by Luc Besson, for which he was also nominated for the César Award as Best Supporting Actor. Also under the direction of Luc Besson, Jean Reno played the hitman Victor in the 1990 film 'La Femme Nikita'. He refined this role in Luc Besson's 1994 film 'Léon: The Professional', which also featured 12-year-old Natalie Portman. This finally secured Jean Reno's international breakthrough. In the same year, he also starred in the fantasy comedy 'The Visitors' alongside Christian Clavier. This film became one of the most successful in French cinemas.

Subsequently, Jean Reno increasingly appeared in international productions. In 'Mission: Impossible' (1996), he starred alongside Tom Cruise. In 2000, Jean Reno played the role of police inspector Pierre Niémans in the film 'The Crimson Rivers'.

In addition to his nomination for the César Award for his role in 'The Big Blue', Jean Reno was also nominated for his roles in 'The Visitors' and 'Léon: The Professional', but has never won the award.

The primary German voice of Jean Reno in the German dubbing versions is Berlin-based actor and voice actor Joachim Kerzel. On occasion, Jean Reno has also been voiced by Detlef Bierstedt and Helmut Krauss.
