Tom Cruise was born on July 3, 1962, in Syracuse, New York (USA) and works as a film actor and film producer.

After his debut as a film actor in the US film 'Endless Love' (1981), he achieved his international breakthrough in 1986 with his role as Lieutenant Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell in the action film 'Top Gun', directed by Tony Scott. This film grossed over 340 million dollars (with a production budget of 15 million) and instantly made Tom Cruise the most successful actor in his age group. Films such as 'The Color of Money' (1986) alongside Paul Newman, directed by Martin Scorsese, or the comedy 'Cocktail' in 1988 solidified Tom Cruise's image as a star.
