Mark Harmon

Mark Harmon was born on September 2, 1951, in Burbank, California, and is an American actor and producer. The son of football star Tom Harmon and actress Elyse Knox, he began his career in the late 1970s with guest appearances in various television series before establishing himself as a versatile actor.

Mark Harmon achieved his breakthrough in the 1980s with the role of Dr. Robert Caldwell in the successful hospital series "St. Elsewhere" (1983-1986), which brought him widespread popularity. In the following years, Mark Harmon expanded his repertoire through appearances in feature films such as "Summer School" (1987) and "The Presidio" (1988) alongside Sean Connery. His charming yet down-to-earth presence made Mark Harmon a sought-after actor for various character roles.

However, Mark Harmon celebrated the greatest success of his career from 2003 onwards as Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the crime series "NCIS". In this role, Mark Harmon shaped one of the longest-running and most successful series in American television for nearly two decades. His portrayal of the stoic yet just investigator became the trademark of the series and made Mark Harmon one of the highest-paid television stars. In addition to his acting work, Mark Harmon also served as executive producer on "NCIS" and significantly influenced the direction of the series.
