Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel Leroy Jackson was born on December 21, 1948, in Washington, D.C. (USA).

After Samuel L. Jackson had primarily played supporting roles in the 1980s and early 1990s, he had his major breakthrough in 1994 with Quentin Tarantino's film 'Pulp Fiction', in which he plays the hitman Jules Winnfield. Quentin Tarantino and Samuel L. Jackson intensified their collaboration in the following years. He appeared in 'Jackie Brown' in 1997, 'Kill Bill: Vol. 2' in 2004, 'Django Unchained' in 2012, and 'The Hateful Eight' in 2015.

In 1995, Samuel L. Jackson starred alongside Bruce Willis in 'Die Hard with a Vengeance'. In 1999, he appeared in 'Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace'. This role was offered to him two years earlier by George Lucas after he had publicly expressed his desire to appear in Star Wars.

For his supporting role in 'Pulp Fiction', Samuel L. Jackson was nominated for an Oscar in 1995. He also received Golden Globe nominations for this role and in 1997 for his role in 'A Time to Kill'.

Samuel L. Jackson was voiced by various German dubbing actors in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. Since the 2010s, Samuel L. Jackson has been almost exclusively dubbed by Engelbert von Nordhausen in the German dubbing versions.
