The American actress and singer Vanessa Anne Hudgens was born on December 14, 1988, in Salinas, California, USA. From early childhood, Vanessa Hudgens took piano, singing, and dance lessons and performed in many musicals. In 2007, Forbes Magazine ranked her as the highest-earning star under 21 in Hollywood.

Vanessa Hudgens had her breakthrough as an actress in 2006 with her role in the musical film High School Musical. She played the role of Gabriella Montez and was dubbed in the German version by Leoni Kristin Oeffinger. In 2007, the sequel High School Musical 2 followed. Although this film aired only on cable television in the USA, it achieved an absolute viewership record with 17.24 million viewers.
