Dean O'Gorman

Dean O'Gorman is a New Zealand actor, born on 1 December 1976 in Auckland. He became known primarily through roles in fantasy and adventure productions and has made a name for himself internationally as a versatile performer.

Dean O'Gorman achieved his breakthrough in his native New Zealand, where he appeared in various television series as a teenager. He gained international recognition through his role as Fili in Peter Jackson's epic film trilogy "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" (2012), "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" (2013), and "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" (2014). In these productions, Dean O'Gorman portrayed one of the dwarves who embark on a perilous journey alongside Bilbo Baggins.

Previously, Dean O'Gorman had already appeared in the television series "Young Hercules" (1998-1999) and later took on a role in "Legend of the Seeker" (2008-2010). He received particular attention for his portrayal of the Norse god Bragi in the series "The Almighty Johnsons" (2011-2013), which was produced in New Zealand and offered a modern interpretation of Norse mythology.

Bereits als Schüler stand Schauspieler und Sprecher Tim Knauer regelmäßig vor dem Mikrofon. Nach seinem Abitur nahm er dann Sprechunterricht bei Marianne Bernhardt und etablierte sich als Synchronschauspieler. Nicht lange ließen große Aufträge und wiederkehrende Rollen auf sich warten. So zählen neben Auftritten in Filmen wie "Der Hobbit" (Zwerg Fili gespielt von Dean O’Gorman) und "Pitch Perfect" (Benji Applebaum gespielt von Ben Platt) auch durchgängige Serienhauptrollen zu seinen Referenzen. Ob als Supergenie Walter O’Brian in "Scorpion", Superheld Matt Murdock in Marvel‘s "Daredevil" oder als Super-WG-Mitbewohner Nick in der Sitcom "New Girl": Mit seiner abwechslungsreichen Stimme und seiner langjährigen Erfahrung schafft er es, jede Rolle perfekt umzusetzen. Vielen könnte das Gesicht von Tim Knauer aber auch noch aus der ZDF-Sendung "Hallo Robbie! " bekannt sein, in der er acht Jahre lang den Tierpfleger Tom Jansen spielte.
