Miles Teller achieved his breakthrough in 2013 with the tragicomedy "The Spectacular Now," in which he portrayed a charming but aimless teenager alongside Shailene Woodley. The following year, he played an important supporting character in the novel adaptation "Divergent" and reprised this role in the sequels of the dystopian film series.
