Detlef Tams is a voice artist through and through, and laid the foundation for his career very early on. As a child, he recorded his own shows on his cassette recorder, during his school years he was active in his school's theatre group, and afterwards in Hamburg's independent theatre scene. Detlef then completed acting training in Hamburg, attended further education to become a music-oriented speech teacher, and deepened his skills as a dubbing and commercial voice artist through various workshops and private lessons in Hamburg and Berlin. After working for some time as a staff voice artist at the pay TV channel Premiere, he became self-employed in 2006 and has been recording in the studio almost daily ever since. You can hear Detlef as the station voice of Sky, where he works not only on air but also as the telephone voice in continuous use. He is also the voice of the Real supermarket chain and regularly voices TV and radio commercials as well as corporate films. His clients include BASF, DEKA Immobilien, Sparkasse, and car brands such as Seat, Ford and BMW. Furthermore, his warm, deep, authoritative and trustworthy voice can frequently be heard in dubbing and audio drama roles, for example in "Die drei ???".
