Mark Hamill

Mark Hamill was born on September 25, 1951, in Oakland, California, and is an actor, voice actor, and producer. He became world-famous for his iconic role as Luke Skywalker in George Lucas's original Star Wars trilogy.

Mark Hamill achieved his international breakthrough in 1977 with "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope," in which he portrayed the young farm boy Luke Skywalker who becomes a Jedi Knight. The role made him a global star overnight and shaped an entire generation of moviegoers. He continued the character in "The Empire Strikes Back" (1980) and "Return of the Jedi" (1983). After these successes, Mark Hamill increasingly turned to theater and voice acting work. As the voice of the Joker in the animated series "Batman: The Animated Series" (1992-1995) and numerous DC animated films, he created one of the most definitive interpretations of the famous supervillain.

Decades later, Mark Hamill returned for the new Star Wars trilogy, playing the aged Luke Skywalker in "The Force Awakens" (2015), "The Last Jedi" (2017), and "The Rise of Skywalker" (2019). He also appeared as Luke Skywalker in the series "The Mandalorian" (2019-2020).
