Robert Vaughn

Robert Vaughn was born on November 22, 1932, in New York City and was an American actor who worked in film and television for over six decades. With his distinctive appearance and confident presence, Robert Vaughn shaped the spy and action series genre in particular and became an icon of American television in the 1960s.

Robert Vaughn achieved his breakthrough in 1960 with an Oscar-nominated supporting role in "The Young Philadelphians". However, he became world-famous for his role as the elegant secret agent Napoleon Solo in the successful television series "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.", which ran from 1964 to 1968. The series made Robert Vaughn an international star and established him as the epitome of the cool spy in 1960s style. Previously, in 1960, he had appeared in "The Magnificent Seven" alongside Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen.

In the following decades, Robert Vaughn remained a fixture in American television. He played recurring roles in series such as "The Protectors" (1972-1974), "Centennial" (1978), and "The A-Team" (1983-1986), where he portrayed the cunning General Hunt Stockwell. From 1986 to 1988, he appeared in the successful series "Falcon Crest". Robert Vaughn continued to perform well into old age and passed away on November 11, 2016.
