Terence Hill

Terence Hill, born March 29, 1939 as Mario Girotti in Venice, is an Italian actor, director and screenwriter who became world-famous primarily through his Western and action comedies. His bright blue eyes and charming smile made him one of the most popular screen heroes of the 1970s and 1980s.

Terence Hill achieved his international breakthrough in 1970 alongside Bud Spencer in "Lo chiamavano Trinità..." (They Call Me Trinity). The unconventional Western comedy became a worldwide success and established one of the most famous on-screen partnerships in film history. Numerous other films together followed, such as "Continuavano a chiamarlo Trinità" (Trinity Is Still My Name, 1971), "...altrimenti ci arrabbiamo!" (Watch Out, We're Mad, 1974) and "Io sto con gli ippopotami" (I'm for the Hippopotamus, 1979). The fight scenes between the two were choreographed like dance routines and left their mark on an entire generation of viewers.

Even without Bud Spencer, Terence Hill impressed in successful films such as "Il mio nome è Nessuno" (My Name Is Nobody, 1973) directed by Tonino Valerii and produced by Sergio Leone. In the 1980s, he turned to more action-packed material, such as in "Renegade - Un osso troppo duro" (Renegade, 1987). From 1994 to 2000, Terence Hill played the lead role in the television series "Un prete tra noi" (Don Matteo), which became one of the greatest successes of Italian television and introduced him to new generations.
