Ron Silver

Ron Silver was born on July 2, 1946, in New York City and was active as an actor on stage, in film, and on television. His career spanned more than three decades, during which he made a name for himself through his versatility and intensity.

Silver began his career in theater and achieved early success there. Ron Silver had his film breakthrough in the 1980s with roles in productions such as "Garbo Talks" (1984) and "Eat and Run" (1986). Ron Silver received particular recognition for his portrayal of lawyer Alan Dershowitz in "Reversal of Fortune" (1990) alongside Jeremy Irons and Glenn Close. Ron Silver played further defining roles in "Timecop" (1994) with Jean-Claude Van Damme, in the science fiction thriller "The Arrival" (1996), and in the television series "The West Wing," where he portrayed political consultant Bruno Gianelli. For his acting achievements, he received multiple awards, including a Tony Award.
